Henning is Group Technical Director of Thuthuka Group Ltd, a multi-disciplinary project engineering and finance business specialising in the water, waste, air pollution, mining and energy industries.
Henning joined Thuthuka Group from Cybercon Engineering, one of the merged entities forming Thuthuka Group Ltd. Henning was Technical Director of Cybercon which was a multi disciplinary project engineering company which designed and built chemical plant and related systems and equipment. Henning was with Sentrachem where he was the Technical and Development Manager of Syntheta (Delta G Scientific). With the takeover of Sentrachem by DOW and the subsequent closure of the project department, he left the company to start own operation which he then merged with Cybercon Engineering in 1995. At Syntheta, Henning was involved in numerous production, development and scale-up projects, mainly in organic syntheses projects. He gained incredibly valuable experience in process development, scale-up, project management and management of scientific and also project based teams.
After completion of the academic training at the University of Pretoria, started working at the Nuclear Energy Corporation of SA in 1985 as a junior Process engineer in the Reactor Process Engineering Department. He gained valuable experience in handling of design standards and writing design specifications. He also completed his honours degree part time and also completed the requirements to register as professional engineer.
Henning is a registered professional engineer with widely recognised expertise in chemical production plant and equipment design and construction. He is also a member of the South African Institute of Chemical Engineers.
