Metallurgical Manager at Grootvlei Prop. Mines Ltd.
Responsible for all Metallurgical functions for initially only Grootvlei Mine, but this was expanded to also include ERPM and Benoni Gold Mine Metallurgical plants. Involved in a number of improvement projects and was appointed to plan and co-ordinate the Merger of Grootvlei and Cons Modder mines after the Harmony purchase of both Mines
1989 to 1995
Metallurgical Manager at Hanova Mining Holdings.
Responsible for the Metallurgical operations at Penge Amosite Mine and later at African Chrysotile Asbestos Mine.This included marketing and sales of products to predominantly overseas customers. Acted as Mine Manager at Penge Mine during this period. Involved in a number of projects at both Penge and ACA, the more notable being a Dump re-treatment plant and a Container depot at Lothair. Was involved in the Dump rehabilitation projects at both Penge and ACA with Potchefstroom University.
